National Lottery Awards for All project that is based in North Acton Playing Fields is focused on creating and protecting a healthy ecosystem will launch with a socially distanced taster later in September. Here, we will begin the project with a socially distanced taster session. The project aims to take action to improve where we live and to create a happier, stronger community that is able to cope with challenge and change through the delivery of a range of innovative and engaging art and cultural activities. If you'd like to join the growing group: email email@example.com
We have adapted the necessary elements to social distancing, with online/virtual elements, the park-based activities lend themselves to the safe delivery of the project. Indeed, the need for activities has never been greater, with social isolation and loneliness a real concern, and with mental health impacts. Particularly access to the open, green space of North Acton Playing Fields, there is a real opportunity to support people into creative activities in safe spaces, and crucially with others (at a safe distance).
The project is based in the North Acton Playing Fields environment which is an ideal open space for safely engaging with local people through our green activities, where our aim of building local engagement with the park, and the importance of the environment to our health & well-being has never been so necessary.
The importance of learning how to grow, nurture, create, make & share across perceived & very real barriers that are particularly evident at this time. The need to build resilience, improve community cohesion and generate lasting relationships with each other & nature is even more important having had months of ‘Lockdown.’ Growing Connections is ideally suited to the present Covid19 crisis. People need this sort of outdoor, environmental project that builds skills, communication with others and builds confidence.
