"25 young people (ages 6-16) from different parts of the Ealing borough and further, e.g. from the boroughs of a Hillingdon and Brent took part. Starting off with an ice-breaker ball game, and a visual quiz to test their geographical knowledge of the Ealing borough, we explored its brief history and some famous men and women who have had a connection in Ealing. Then I shared a couple of poems, 'Ealing Represents' and ‘Treasured Trunk’, the latter one which drew on the impact of discovering the contents of my father's Black Star Line naval trunk in Hanwell in 2013, 37 years after his demise. All this provided a backdrop to inspire our participants to create their own personal written and visual narratives, based on an Ealing theme. The creative writings and artworks produced and presentations were simply outstanding and inspirational. We will include them in WAPPY's second forthcoming anthology.  Well done to every WAPPY young person and teen who took part! 

In partnership with Ealing Council, Community Cultural Solutions (CCS) Ealing Libraries and ARTification, WAPPY (Writing, Acting & Publishing Project for Youngsters), ran the workshop, 'What I Like About Ealing' as part of The Story Continues Arts Council funded project. Spoken Word Artist, TUUP & Filmmaker, Mike McKenzie, visited to film the workshop and interview some youngsters about their creative process and motivations.
